SIDHARTHAN is a student wellness app. It brings together ragging reporting, drug abuse reporting, counselling support and Connect. Students can also send an SOS to their campus responders.
Students and their parents or guardians whom their institution has enrolled, and staff whom their institution has given access.
Your institution sets up your access. If you need an account, contact your institution.
Contact your institution for sign-in or profile help. For your private-request PIN, contact your university.
For general questions about the initiative, contact the Kerala State Higher Education Council.
No. Students and parents sign in and use SIDHARTHAN through the mobile app, which is where reporting, SOS, counselling and My Requests work. Sign-in on this website is for staff only.
The Google Play and App Store listings are not published yet. Download links will appear on this website once they are. Until then, ask your institution about access to the app.
Choose Student / Parent, enter your registered mobile number and then the 6-digit sign-in code sent to that number.
Signing in to the app ends your previous app login, so the app is signed in on one phone at a time.
Contact your institution. Only your institution can set up your access or change your registered mobile number.
Need help with your PIN? Contact your university. Only an authorised university officer can arrange a reset.
For an immediate threat to safety, call 112. An SOS in this app alerts your campus responders; it does not call emergency services.
For students, yes, unless you choose not to. The app finds your location when SOS opens. Your location is sent with your SOS so responders can reach you faster. Shared with the staff handling your SOS when you send it.
The responder, the Institution Head and the Anti-Ragging Committee handling your SOS can see it. It is kept while your request is open and for 30 days after it is closed, never more than one year after you sent it, and is then removed.
You can tap “Don't send my location”, and SOS still works if location is not allowed. A parent’s own location is never sent.
Your Institution Head can turn the SOS button off. The app then says “SOS is disabled by your institution. If you are in danger right now, call 112.”
SOS can be sent only a limited number of times in 24 hours from one account or one phone. After that the app says “You have reached the SOS limit for the last 24 hours.” and shows when you can send SOS again. Call 112 stays on the SOS screen.
While your SOS is still open, pressing SOS again adds to the same request: it keeps the same request number, and the responders are alerted again (at most once every 2 minutes). Pressing again never counts against the SOS limit.
If you share your location, the new location replaces the earlier one for responders. Once the request is closed, SOS opens a new request.
The service knows who submits the report. Hide my identity keeps it off usual review screens.
Hide my identity is the default. You can instead choose Ready to share my identity.
You get a request ID. Your institution should review your concern and record its first response within 24 hours of receiving it. Every request is different, and the recorded steps and decision appear in My Requests.
An unresolved concern moves to university review, then district review, then state oversight.
These are service targets, not guaranteed resolution times or legal deadlines. Counselling and care requests follow care-team arrangements instead.
Yes. Use “Add an update” on the request. Add something you missed or tell the team what has changed. Your original request stays as you sent it.
For a closed ragging or drug abuse report, yes. You can appeal. Your request opens again and the committee records its remarks. A request can be appealed up to three times.
The counsellor who accepts this request will see who asked and the student’s name, course and phone number, so they can contact you. Other staff do not see them.
No fixed timeframe applies. Counselling and care requests follow care-team arrangements instead.
Your care team will arrange support with you. Find replies and appointment updates in My Requests.
Your reports stay behind your secret PIN. Your children's own requests stay private unless they choose to share one with you.
Connect, share, ask questions and support each other in moderated, text-only rooms. Your institution sets up the rooms. Connect is not part of the parent app.
